B. Riley Advisory Services offers specialty financial advisory services to lenders, law firms and other professional services firms to support complex business problems, including bankruptcy, restructuring, turnaround and crisis management, and litigation matters. We are seeking a full-time real estate valuation Associate for our Atlanta, GA Office.
The ideal candidate will perform commercial real estate appraisals for financial reporting, mortgage lending, investment analysis, due diligence assignments, transaction support and dispute resolution assignments.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Work with clients to develop scope of the assignment and property characteristics relevant to the valuation methodologies used to derive indications of value;
2. Ensure valuation assignments are prepared in accordance with USPAP and other professional standards;
3. Develop and maintain client relationships through meetings and other methods;
4. Work closely with other financial experts at the firm;
5. Testify as a real estate valuation expert, if required;
6. Market services, develop client networks and support efforts of developing and executing sales and marketing strategies;
7. Understand project types and procedures, budgets and timelines. Overseeing projects and keeping client informed of status;
8. Demonstrate leadership and strong personal integrity;
9. Hold self-accountable to a high standard of performance;
10. Articulate in phone conversations, video conferences, meetings and prepare well-written correspondence.Education, Experience, and Skills:
1. State Certified General Appraisal License in Georgia.
2. Bachelor’s Degree
3. Position requires 3-5 years of experience in conducting commercial real estate appraisals
4. Experience in conservation easements, purchase price allocation, and special purpose property a plus
5. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents
6. Ability to respond to client needs in deadline-oriented situations
7. Ability to review and analyze complex business/financial issues and reports prepared by opposing experts
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
9. Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; Experience with ARGUS a plus
10. Travel will be requiredB.
